Dr. Omar Akram is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner with a unique background in both clinical medicine and clinical research. Dr. Akram holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr. Akram holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Androgens from the University of Sydney. He also spent time in the USA as a research fellow in prostate cancer, where he gained valuable insights into cutting-edge medical research and its applications in clinical practice. This research experience informs his evidence-based approach to patient care, particularly in areas like hormonal health and chronic disease management.
He is committed to delivering patient-centered care, focusing on preventative health, chronic disease management, and holistic treatment approaches. Dr. Akram works closely with his patients to manage both acute and ongoing health issues, while promoting lifestyle changes that support long-term well-being.
His areas of interest include chronic disease management (such as diabetes and hypertension), women’s health, family medicine, mental health, and travel medicine. He also offers health screenings, vaccinations, and minor procedural care. His special interest is in Skin/Skin Cancer.
